This instance, SDF, is more of an avant garde artist collective kind of thing (outside of the communities here that are doing some seriously amazing dedicated work like !amputee@lemmy.sdf.org etc). I have no idea why @qrstuv@lemmy.sdf.org decided to make a news community - that one is unironically odd, and I offered to help moderate in a serious manner. The community you are viewing this in exists because @wesker@lemmy.sdf.org was legitimately being harassed and made some comedy out of it. I really mean it when people randomly commenting here don’t get it. You need a lot of context.

It doesn’t. I never said that it did. You’re going to have to ask the mod that. What I am trying to imply here is that none of this arguing etc. is actually relevant in this community. This is something that should have never federated, to be honest. The person banned should take it up with the moderator. Or !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com which is the actually appropriate place to post something serious. This post is not serious. At all. For all I know, this is an admission of guilt.

Ok, sure. But it should have been a flag that the “troll mod” was the one that posted this. This post is entirely warranted, and is obviously satire aimed at themselves. It’s more than mildly infuriating to me that people will just dogpile without context. Even the title of the post in this community should make it obvious that none of this was serious. Scribbled timestamps should add to that, since there were none to begin with. This is OP saying, in a roundabout way, “I fucked up”.

Look. It sucks. The community itself is satire. They made a shitty choice on a community that doesn’t even really fit on the instance. I’ve probably been over defensive since we just recently had to collectively summon the admin to ban a literal Nazi troll. I am not defending the moderation actions taken, because they were bad. I am defending this post in this community as it is.
