      Happens regularly on that route. Some people just don’t take the alps seriously.

      Hm, my understanding always was that this kind of thing just can’t be helped, as it’s rather the mountain that doesn’t take humans seriously, i.e. every season in every similar location around the world there will always be a certain level of attrition among the thrill seekers, pretty much regardless of level of experience, caution or preparation.

        Well yes but actually no. Like 1 in 10 really dies through nature being extreme despite extensive preparation, ample caution and years of experience. The other 9 are overconfident tourists lacking in at least one of these areas.

        The same thing happens with swimming in our rivers. Every year someone dies. It just happens in like 99% of cases to be a reckless overweight slightly drunk tourist thinking a wild river is like his pool in Cali.
