Over the last days I read Twokinds and thought I might share my thoughts about it so maybe others might give it a try too (if they don’t know it already).
(But don’t expect a review; I’m bad at such stuff.)
Up to chapter 7 (±) you need some “goodwill” while reading, as in some places the plot is kinda jagged. People, Backgrounds, … are inserted with not much or late explanation or seem chaotic.
Also the drawing-style has much room to improve. Which it will; you can see it gradually improving over the lifetime of the story, which is (for me) quite interesting to see.
The plot-writing skills get better too and at the latest from the Basitin Island arc on I was invested. It can be followed without much “what, why / how??” and is gripping without feeling stretched or too fast paced.
Another plus is that it is not focused on only one hero / heroine.
I can say that I liked it more, the more I read it.
I stumbled across this comic when I saw that there is a Comics widget for KDE Plasma and the store has a couple of plugins for comics. But the multiple plugins for Twokids were all broken, so I downloaded the sources and fixed it.
Now that I learned how to write such plugins, I created some more and put the all in a Git Repo. The Furry themed are:
- Twokinds
- RAM the Robot
- NON-ENTITY
That is really cool! Good job on the KDE plugin :3
I hear a lot of good stuff about Twokinds and the art style from what I’ve seen looks neat!
