This is exactly what I’ve been wanting from a mobile keyboard. Simple, no frills, and no internet usage. Finally can ditch Gboard.
For those who don’t know, futo keyboard is source available, rather than open source. Personally I’m quite happy with it, but I wanted to share that in case it makes a difference for someone considering it :)
Heliboard and futo keyboard are both quite good in my experience. Floris board looks promising if/when they get autocompletion working, but it’s not as far along development-wise as a project
If you do not need voice input, take a look at heliboard
Yeah, this is what I’ve been using, recently though I’ve found my dictionary has gone too weird
I switched a year or two ago. Highly recommended.

Been using it about a year. It’s great. It’s swiping support is not as accurate as alternatives, but I’ve learned to live with it for the added privacy.
I switched to FUTO well over a year ago ( maybe two). Perfectly happy with it.
I wonder if it supports other languages like French or Japanese.
Just tried it out and I quiet like it, I think I will switch permanently from the one I used before (Heliboard) to this one.
I do use it because the standard keyboard on GrapheneOS is annoying. Futo is nice so far, it feels like the iPhone keyboard. The spell checker is not perfect (e.g. not correcting Its to It’s at the beginning of the sentence) but I can’t complain.
