In her deficient, warped soul, it seems she lacked something that every woman must have: a morality that she valued more than male approval.

That’s the point. She didn’t do it bc she felt subservient. She didn’t do it bc she needed him to pay for her expenses. Those things may have also been true aspects of Maxwell, but they aren’t the reasons she did what she did.

At the end of the day, she did it because she was morally deficient. It’s important people remember that when Trump pardons her to excuse his own moral deficiencies.

It’s odd for people to assume women aren’t capable on their own to be monsters.

Yes, that’s exactly the point. No matter what the media narrative is shifted to, (with the rare exception of mental deficiencies) adult humans are responsible for their actions. Especially when they’re part of a repeated pattern.

That should be true for everyone regardless of their identity or social status. It shouldn’t matter if you’re a wealthy woman born into a life of privilege you were desperate to maintain regardless of who you harmed, anymore than it should matter if you’re a wealthy man born into a life of privilege who made a choice to pursue sexual relationships with underage girls.

You can blame social expectations or affluenza, but at the end of the day, you made the decision to do something you knew was so wrong, simply because you felt fulfilment of your own needs outweighed all the harm you did to innocent people. You certainly had the mental capacity to put in effort to keep what you did secret while you continued to do it. So, it seems impossible to argue that any of these monsters (even the ones who were only involved financially, or the ones that chose to remain silent until it was politically safe for them to speak out) should be considered less culpable.

A monster doesn’t deserve a reward for singing the tune another monster requested. Yet that’s exactly what has happened.

Surely morality over approval by others is a necessity for people in general, regardless of gender. Why single out the female gander?
