Heya Crashdoom, wanted to make you aware of this. There’s currently a bug with 0.17.4 that makes the feed not refresh. A fix has been found but is getting rolled into the next release. Currently, they say the workaround (per the linked comment) is to restart the server regularly.
I know we’re on 0.17.3, however I’m still noticing a lot of weirdness looking at my feed on Hot. One second I’ll be reading a headline, and then a dozen posts immediately fill the feed and take over without me refreshing. May be related? Unsure.
Edit: Definitely noticing it.
Could it be related to this? https://pawb.social/comment/115323 - Someone’s made a connection to a remote community while you were browsing and it’s downloaded the posts onto your feed all in one go? Or are the posts coming from a community you already knew about?
Subscribed and Local feeds are where I’m seeing it. So, another instance connecting shouldnt change my page.
Ah I see.
Ok, I saw this before when looking at another instance. But refreshing seemed to fix it, so I wasn’t sure what exactly was causing it?
I’m definitely noticing this now. My frontpage is from 2 or 3 days ago at this point. Sorting by top of the day helps a bit, but this is quite a bad experience for normal users. If restarting the server fixes this, I’d recommend doing it at least every 12 hours until the bug is fixed
Also noticing it a lot now.
