Absolutely. He just wants to cash out and go buy his yachts

I like parts of g5, and I hope it finds it’s footing. I think it could get good but right now it’s discombobulated.
Some parts like the stupid baby dragon will never go anywhere and drag the show down.
Atari 2600 unless commodore 64 counts
And probably the star wars game I had, the one with the at at’s
45k ish karma in the top 500k
No big shot but I’m out when my app stops working
I dont think his plan is even that deep. They have an ipo coming up and spez is set to make yacht money. he doesnt care if he burns the site to the ground cause he still walks out with a giant paycheck
yeah. think of it like email.
Instead of being username on reddit youre now username@instance. As long as your instance and my instance are set to talk then its like we are on one big server. I can sub to communities out of my instance and post content and others can do the same with communities on my instance
if you see a community on a different instance that you cant find on yours you can even paste the whole link in the community search bar and if you are the first subscriber from your instance you’ll add it to the search bar for your whole instance (as long your instances talk)
It’s pretty dang cool and now that its got momentum I cant wait to see where it goes
I think a lot of people from twitter made accounts ( I know I’m guilty) because we all thought twitter was legit about to disappear into an internet sinkhole
but when it didnt I think the quirks of mastadon kept a lot of people from spending the time to find everyone all over again.
yeah, ive only checked the front page to upvote protest topics but what Ive noticed is things aren’t getting pushed off the frontpage for hours and hours now. It definitely feels like activity is dropping off a cliff.
it reminds me a whole lot of the early days of reddit / digg
planning on really making a go here even if reddit turns around.
Otherwise once 3rd party rules kick in and my apps evaporate ill give it a little while after to see what they do but then I plan to erase and delete my 2008 account
My opinion is ,even though its not the best anymore, some flavor of ubuntu.
Ubuntu may be losing its favor with the community but the important things for beginners is that it had a LOT of momentum for the past decade or so. That means lots of forum threads, lots of tutorials and lots of support from software for the platform. Which is important when your trying to pick up a whole new way of using your computer.
If your a windows power user already then I would say kubuntu. it uses kde and its got a windows-y vibe. stuff is mostly in the same places.
Once you’ve gotten your training wheels off then you can try anything, but start with a popular one
same, it works fantastically with kubuntu and ive already upgraded the hardware a couple of times.
It’s a little more expensive than normal to start but once your in the ecosystem its fantastic
I kinda did
Same
I’m ready for reddit to burn to the ground at this point
