Reddit in general and r/politics doesn’t have their democratic party astro turf campaign going either. Even here, there was clearly a campaign to convince leftists to stay out of the election.
We need to realize that the majority of people talking to us online during election years are probably not real people.
I am finding I like Mastodon the best. Lemmy has potential, but I think the political extremism and lack of hobbyist culture here currently, mixed with the incredibly confusing on-boarding process beginners have to navigate, along with the name, all contribute to making it DOA.

Conservative voters are not anti-war, they are anti-Russian war, and the Republican ticket already addresses that. These people don’t historically vote for left wing parties, nor are they in this case.
The green party’s base is pot smokers and college students who haven’t gotten wise to the green grift yet.
If you think doing your part to make sure a fascist gets elected will gain you ranked choice voting, you are naive.

There is a word for people who themselves are not fascist but regardless work to install fascism under the belief that they will personally benefit from it (as you do with thinking fascism is necessary to gain ranked choice).
That word is “fascist.”
No, you won’t see me at the ballot box. You will be getting high off the false morality injection voting for some dingbat gives you, while I will be trying to prevent a fascist with intentions of being a day one dictator from taking power.
If you admit that Republicans are worse, than you have to admit that voting for spoiler candidates who help elected Republicans is the worse option than just voting democratic.
You can’t admit that Republicans are worse than use what little political capital you have to help them while pretending you are more moral than those of us who vote democratic.
You are just sniffing your own farts and pretending you are better than those of us who you leave behind to actually make the decision to help as many we are given the ability to.
I am confused because Trump made the comment regarding committing murder on 5th Avenue as explanation of his cult’s loyalty, but you are claiming that is a Biden thing. I’m also unsure of the relevance, seeing that Biden isn’t one of the two choices you are being given to elected as your next president…
I’m regards to Palestine, there are two options: the democrats and working towards a peace deal, or Trump, who wants to finish the job of eradicating Palestinians. Voting for anybody but Harris is a vote for total eradication in this case, and I’m not going to let you pretend that isn’t the case if we are to continue this dialog.
I don’t support capitalism.
I live in a capitalist world and currently only have a choice between capitalism that can be negotiated with, or full blown fascist flavored capitalism.
If you hate liberalism more than you do fascism, you aren’t a socialist.
Pretending a spoiler candidate has a chance of winning and getting zero percent of what you want doesn’t make you more moral than the people who vote for the furthest left candidate with the ability to win and getting 5% of what you wanted.
We have an obligation and a moral duty to fight fascism at the ballot box. Voting for a fascists’ spoiler because the spoiler pretends they are on your side is not strength on your part, it is cowardice.
I didn’t realize putting Marx in your name entitled you to the ability of gatekeeping socialism from everybody who doesn’t live in your imaginary socialist world and instead have to deal with the political realities of the system they are operating in.

There is a reason socialists in the US vote for the democratic party: we have influence in participation and have been granted concessions.
If it isn’t Nick Szabo, it is somebody who has spent years ensuring all clues point to nobody but Nick Szabo, up to and including placing a Satoshi nakamoto statue in a rural Polish town where Nick Szabo’s grandfather was born.
Let’s just look at this logically: if you had written the 30+ papers building the ideas that eventually became bitcoin, actually were building bitcoin and months away from releasing, and then had all your work stolen without credit nor citation, you wouldn’t be the world’s biggest supporter of bitcoin. You would be mad that somebody stole your work and then spent years framing you for its creation.
The first usage of the word bitcoin was even on Nick Szabo’s own blog, under a comment by the user Eddie. This leads to two outcomes: Eddie is Satoshi, or Nick’s work wasn’t stolen, bit gold is bitcoin and Nick is Satoshi.

You will notice that anytime you respond to boomer with disagreement, multiple accounts will begin flooding you, and they all brave in and out of the conversations as if they are the ones who said things said by others.

However, I bought the novel Rabbits solely because Doctorow had a front cover blurb praising the novel.
It was downright a bad novel. Doctorow owes me $16.
It’s truly not even a mystery.
There is only one person on earth who had both the skills and experience to create bitcoin, and actually was working to create bitcoin in the months leading up to the white paper.
That person is Nick Szabo.
If you don’t want to be called out for being a propagandist for a terrorist organization, the simple solution is to stop being one.
If that is truly their plan, they are dumber than we fucking figured.
If a billionaire wants to buy a swimming pool, he needs a considerable amount of other people to be able to afford swimming pools or it it becomes impossible for him to get one at all eventually.
To have a swimming pool, there needs to be an industry of specialized labororers who can manufacture and install. There has to be electricians who specialize in mixing water and electricity. There has to be people working the factories where the chlorine gets manufactured and bottled.
This is true for every product that billionaires consume. You really gotta think that these people with all this wealth would have people on the payroll pointing this out to them.
