Honestly, I feel that unless nails are noticeably missing chunks, it’s never that bad! Purple is rad!

Shaping is very tedious. but I try to keep things the same shape. I keep hearing about stickers. Might have to take the plunge one day.
Aw, RIP! I hope most of the color is intact!
Black is literally one of my favorite colors, so I’m all for it. Also I hope your cat loves their cuddles and doesn’t bite (too hard/often).
Learn something new every day. Thanks!
One thing I noticed is that Beehaw doesn’t have hashtags. I’m on Pixelfed, but the photos that appear in my feed are based on hashtags I’ve chosen to follow that also have a photo. So I’m unsure how this post will get picked up on Pixelfed without any tags (I didn’t test that I could add #nails to the post and it’d work). But hey! You found me and that’s cool enough. Also thanks, glitter is great :D
That’s the neat part, I don’t keep my fretting hand long!
(I’m wearing my plain wedding band as sometimes my eczema acts up)
So yeah I keep my left hand nubbin’ short and my right hand is just claws. I actually can’t fingerpick very well when my right hand does get short, but I admit my playing sounds better when it’s skin on contact with strings. But to me, nails are like arms, how do you live without them?
RE: What music I play, I wish I had a style! I consider myself reasonably eclectic, but I haven’t nailed my style down to a genre. I may like alternative rock like My Chemical Romance, Breaking Benjamin, and Avenged Sevenfold, but that doesn’t mean I like (…or am good at) attempting to play it!
When I started guitar three years ago, the goal was to be a finger style guitarist, but I found I had a lot more fun going to my family’s house for the holidays or friend’s houses and just doing mini karaoke, so it’s really me just strumming and playing (that’s not much of a style, though T_T). I think that because I like strumming and light fingerstyle, I was gonna try to develop a folk style, but then I ran out of time as I’m trying to finally get my degree. Will report if I finally figure out the answer to the question “what music do you play?”.
Waaah! Such a good job! Do you do this as a hobby or a trade?
When the planets align, I want a nail pen. I forgot to add that since I’m between jobs/had an iffy work schedule, I went from getting no chip manicures to doing them at home with Dazzle Dry. So long as the top coat hasn’t gotten a weird texture, it’s a good time. I can go a week and a half before things get iffy so long as I’m not going ultra ham on guitar or being real rough in the world with my hands. Before that, I was a solid OPI girlie.
My vote is third from the right, Cirque Colors - High Society. I think that feels both spring and St. Patrick-y.
Reading is fundamental! Sorry I didn’t see this. I’ll try to figure out how crossposting works on this site.
There is such a thing as glass dip pens (I had one and was too rough with it, so it broke :') ), but I like using fountain pens that suck up ink via a spring or piston filled mechanism. I only fool around with fountain pens because I like playing with fun ink and being a weirdo. This is my TWSBI Eco (Fine nib) inked with Noodler’s Cardinal Kestral.
Some would argue that there is a proper grip to hold fountain pens, but I found that the normal way I write is good enough. I always enjoyed writing in cursive, and I take a lot of notes (prayer journaling, getting my college degree, writing out my thoughts, etc.), so fountain pens indulge those activities.
If you like going down rabbit holes, here’s a blog post to learn more: https://www.jetpens.com/blog/The-Beginner-s-Guide-to-Fountain-Pens/pt/927. #twsbieco #fountainpens (idk may this reach the fountain pen people elsewhere in the Fediverse so they can add more)
