  • Sega Game Gear – my parents had this whole Thing about not wanting me to hook stuff up to the TV (although I occasionally convinced them to rent a Genesis and a few games for the weekend). Favorite game…hard to say, probably one of the Sonic games but I don’t remember which.

If only non-portable consoles count, they did eventually pick up a used NES (and later got me a Nintendo 64 as a birthday gift). Favorites there are Legend of Zelda and Ogre Battle 64.

This would imply that a single slice of quiche would itself become toast. I don’t think we can apply the cube rule to pieces of food; it has to be the original prepared form before being served.

  • Eh, the problem I have with that approach is that in my case, Adderall helps me do stuff like “get the trash out to the dumpster” and “make phone calls”. Executive dysfunction is a bitch and a half for plenty of reasons that’d still be there even if we finally attained fully automated luxury gay space communism.

  • Regarding the humanocentrism, there was one possible explanation I hit on while playing Star Trek Online and noticing the availability of species-specific ships (such as the Atrox carrier and the Andorian escorts) – basically, most member worlds maintain their own independent fleets, but Earth doesn’t. The human prominence in Starfleet is an artifact of that – there’s no official Earth Expeditionary Fleet, so the people who might join it apply to Starfleet instead.
