I saw that right after donating, right after restarting my laptop after long time and seing the notification. I saw the chart and was like “dang, there was more poeple like me, also xmass time or smh” xD
I wish gnome would do the same and show a notification in December as well

KDE Plasma got a once-a-year notification that asks for donations a few months ago, which shows up in December.
They had an end of year fundraiser for people to adopt an app: https://kde.org/fundraisers/yearend2024/
They showed a once per year notification which reminds people they can donate.
I hope the conclusion is that annual notifications work.
