Is Elon still trying to prove he can fit in with the gamer crowd? It looks so sad, like Zucky learning martial arts to prove everyone how tough he is. Guys you don’t need to fuck the planet over your teenagehood traumas, just deal with them like any other reasonable person.

Grummz is a racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-woke pile of crap.

He is also behind the recently released Schedule 1 game. Don’t buy it.

EDIT: Nope, I was wrong. He is still a bigot, tons of evidence for that. But he was citing Schedule 1 sales numbers and I read that it was his game. But I can’t verify that anywhere so I was mistaken.

that idiot is also bad at his job which is why he can’t release a fucking game (for which ubi also shat on him lol) which is why he has to cite someone else’s game. he’s not just a bigoted manchild, but he’s also a disgraced fraud with a career full of failed projects with many stories about how horrible he is at his job.

I had no idea who the second guy was. He’s a racist/sexist ex-Blizzard employee.

      https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Kern

Kern has become an outspoken critic of the company and criticized such environmental, social, and governance standards and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives effects on video game developers. In March 2024, he railed against wokeness, telling Fox News that there is a “coordinated effort to insert diversity politics into games”.

I wonder if they saw the absolutely stupid way people shit their pants about Yasuke, and realized there was no winning with these losers.

It’s funny seeing the about face - the controversy over “we don’t have female protagonists because they would be difficult to model” feels like another universe now.

Musk’s tweet has about 200 retweets and 2.4k ‘hearts’ (likes), Ubisoft’s has 1.9k retweets and has 9.2k hearts. Therefore, nearly 5x the number of people have interacted with Ubisoft’s tweet. A ‘ratio’ of 5:1.

Edit: Guess that’s closer to 4:1, regardless, ratio.

I believe it’s likes (the heart icon) to replies (the chat bubble icon). Usually there are way, way more likes than replies: the ubisoft comment in the screenshot has 9,200/408 which is about 23. The middle comment has 2,400/318 which is about 8. Guessing that’s unusually low.

How this guy still has time for games and twitter is beyond me,

I have an easy, simple answer.

He doesn’t actually work or play games. He spends all his time scrolling and tweeting from his many, many accounts, has people playing games for him.

I think a lot of artists are still holding on to their following there, bluesky has a lot of the same features (more actually because it allows you to change settings to hide NSFW images), but it’s hard to migrate a following to a new site.

        Its actually easy.

First, post on the alternative site.

Then mirror the post on xitter after 24 hours with an added “Btw, follow me on Bluesky/Mastodon to be the first to see my posts”

Bonus points if you get banned for promoting an alternative platform, that’ll make them seem like their being persecuted and the followers will follow.

There are still a lot of major commercial and political and media presences there, which is going to mean a lot of people who report on and follow those entities have to maintain their accounts, and all the people who follow those people are still going to be there.

It’s still a huge platform, it’s still used by the majority of the world for all manner of applications. We easily get stuck in weird perspectives of the world and current events because a lot of algorithms push “satisfaction porn” on us, making it look like the current political administration is getting “DESTROYED” by this and that… it’s as false of a worldview as what they consume, it makes us all think that people like Musk are hurting and suffering as consequence of backlash.

If you browse around the fetid hangouts of the conservatives and Techbros who idolize these people, they’re in exactly the same black-hole where perspective cannot escape. “Why would anyone use Bluesky at this point? It’s failing every day!” they will proclaim while laughing at how unphased Musk is, and how much success they’ve been having.

Not making a both-sides argument, just a warning that the algorithm distorts your perspectives - it’s designed to make everyone feel validated and that can be incredibly damaging when you’re trying to affect change on the world.

Okay but as I said, it’s still a huge platform, it’s still used by the majority of the world for all manner of applications. Millions of people using it don’t even know or care who Elon Musk is. I don’t disagree that the nazis are a rising problem that will eventually sink the application, I’m just saying absolutism like this is kind of… conservativish and cartoonish.

This is absolutely 100% the exact kind of perspective bubble I am warning us all about.

Amber Alerts have their own system that has nothing to do with Twitter. A lot of people disable it but it rings on your phone the way an emergency alert does and it’s local to your area. I’m sure they also send alerts through twitter, bluesky, and fascist-book just to cover bases but the main system is not dependent on a social media platform. That would be stupid.
