My uncle was a roofer and I worked for him sometimes. He used a Chevy S10 pickup. That’s the kind of truck a working man uses. Cheap, reliable, good gas mileage and a decent sized bed.
If you’re a roofer and think the CT is the “best truck ever”, then that tells me you never do any work and sub contract to actual roofers.
yeah there’s no way anyone who’s actually done any work with a truck would think this fucking abomination that can barely function as a motor vehicle at all, let alone as a truck, is the best one ever.
Thank you for your trust!

I… what tips and tricks does this person think they’re going to get? You either sell the car, or you stop bringing it with you. There’s no third option. Is disguising it a third option? Wrap it in a little rubber chicken costume?
People would ask questions like this in reddit AMAs all the time, too, and I just don’t understand the impulse to ask strangers online before you’ve thought about it yourself even a little bit.
Hey! Don’t blame me for wanting some magical third option. /s
Those are the obvious practical options but the real solution to this problem is to firstly embrace the notion that people with differing views to yours are not necessarily idiots and secondly make a genuine attempt at understanding why customers could find a mere choice of vehicle abhorrent enough to choose another roofer.
I mean, when customers are leaving, it’s a great time to learn more about your market and in the attempt you might grow as a person.
Because they don’t want actual advice, they want to see their opinions underneath your username so they feel validated.
It’s the best truck I’ve ever had
So… They’ve never had any other truck? Even a tuktuk is a better truck.
What they mean is that it makes them feel special. And different. Ugh, you just don’t get it, dad. 🙄
Holy shit the Cybertruck is conservative blue hair
I mean that statement would do even more to make me not trust his business. You think I’m going to trust the roof built by a guy who thinks the cybertrucks the best truck he’s ever owned? Peeling panels off that dumb thing, what the hell is the roof going to be like then?
All dumpsterness aside, it just looks like fuckin amateur hour with that decal on the door compared to the truck you can see parked in front of it. And I’m pretty sure the decal is slightly misaligned.
The decal is aligned to the bend in the panel, but that bend is not perpendicular to the rear edge of the panel so it looks weird
And I’m pretty sure the decal is slightly misaligned
it’s likely that the decal is straight, but the door is misaligned
That’s so it can qualify as a work vehicle without the commitment of wrapping the thing then he gets to take the company car home and just take the magnet off.
But the truck in front is also theirs…
Riiiiight, but I’m saying if you hired a company, disregarding the actual trucks themselves, do you want them to show up in a truck with actual proper graphics on the whole thing… or just some rinky dink misaligned decal without any useful, readable information on it? If they’re gonna insist on using the cucktruck for their company, at least commit to it.
I’m imagining they got properly personalized trucks, then at one point the owner got himself a cybertruck and just stuck on that shoddy decal on his own.
They bought the truck and stuck a business decal on it so they can claim it as a business expense and deduct the costs of owning that monstrosity on their income taxes.
The “decal” is probably magnetic so they can just remove it, they bought the truck because they wanted it for personal use/agenda reasons and don’t want to commit to real decals they can’t easily remove when not on a job.
And imo it reflects poorly on his business as long as it’s anywhere that people can see it, especially when it’s next to the properly customized truck.
“It’s the best truck I’ve ever had?”
They’re a desk rider for sure.
When I was a kid my grandparents had a ~30 year old truck for farm work that had part of the floorboard rusted out, and it was almost certainly a better truck (it could handle farm work, for one). Also probably less likely to trap anyone inside it and burn them to death.
“best”=only
Considering there’s literally a pickup decaled with the same company, right in front of that thing, your statement isn’t really accurate.
Pickup is likely a worker. Cybertronk is likely the owner.
Yes, the workers truck which is owned by the owner of the roofing company, hence not their first truck.
Yeah, meaning he bought an actual truck for the people that actually do work, and a shit box for himself
Still wouldn’t be his first truck though
Semantics are fun. I’ll give you that
Nah that one is his wife’s.

Shows up in a 100K vehicle, probably not great with money and gonna over charge on the work.

Why worry? Just let nature take its course and in a few months it’ll be a smoldering pile of rubble.
the company or the truck?
Indeed.
How about get an actual truck ?
Big “we’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas” energy with this one
Doctor it hurts when I do this
I have one fart’s worth of empathy for the idiot, though. He is likely massively upside down on the loan since those things are toxic and have shit resell value. He is probably financially stuck with it. And this is simply unstated/implied in the post.
Names his company “lighting your farts on fire” roofing. Almost as bad as https://www.pro-lapse.com/ prolapse photography
I assume it’s named after the famous Navy flying squad: https://www.blueangels.navy.mil/
That tracks. I’m somewhat of a Snowbird enjoyer myself.
The more proud nazis that buy swasticars the easier it is to figure out who NOT to do business with. More power to them!
My kid’s tee ball coach has one he uses to advertise his construction business with. I have made it a point to not bring it up with him, because I get the feeling he’s a big Trump guy. We are in one of the bluest places on the planet. I’m amazed he hasn’t figured out it’s a business liability, not an asset to drive around in that stupid shit box. Even if there was no Elon propping up dictators in the US, it’s objectively a shitty truck that can’t do truck things, so if the guy I’ve contracted to do an addition shows up in a $100k truck that can’t haul anything it’s pretty clear that he’s not doing anything other than sitting back and counting money while his crew does all the work, and I’m overpaying to ensure he continues to have cybertruck buying money. Add to that the fact that Elon is propping up dictators in the US, and you are alienating in this area, probably 80% of your customer base by driving a car that is the embodiment of maga is just beyond stupid. I hope his business goes under.
Where I live, the Harris signs outnumbered Trump signs by about 30:1. We had a contractor show up to bid on repainting our kitchen cabinets and he had a huge Trump 2024 flag mounted in the back of his truck and a “Fuck Your Feelings” sticker on the back window. My mom is the most good-natured person on the planet but she wouldn’t even let him in the house.
Good on her. I’d have told him I’m not interested and if he said anything back, I’d say fuck your feelings and slam the door in his face.
Maybe he is hoping support from the proud boys and militias will make up for the business from sane people that he drives away.
Very few of those in SF tho
Lol I just read this in a Russian accent, sounds pretty legit.
“I in Atlanta” is flawless redneck.
I hadn’t noticed that part. I’m also in Atlanta, and I’m overdue for a new roof, so I’m making a mental note to be sure to avoid this company.
Edit: also a 205 (Alabama, apparently) area code, LOL. Fuckin’ johnny-come-lately can’t even bother getting a proper Atlanta phone number? Legit long-established businesses would have a 404 or maybe a 770.
To be fair, I’ve lived in Georgia for 10 years and still have the cell phone number from my home state. Makes it REAL easy to avoid spam calls because they all use my old area code and aren’t in my contacts. Granted, I don’t use that number for a local business.
I do too, but I don’t give my number out for business(which you said too). Even when I had to, I temporarily got a 678 google voice number
A bright business man might turn this problem around by buying another truck for his business, an even brighter one would then start a new business doing the exact same thing except this new business only does roofing for nazi’s and an even brighter one might charge these nazi’s extra because he comes by your house in a secondhand (wink wink) swastikar.
