New to Lemmy. When creating new communities does it matter which instance one creates it? For instance already have seen a few communities with the same name.
Is the approach in Lemmy that it is more of a <community>@<server> vs just <community>?
Only concern I have, or perhaps don’t understand it well enough, is that what if one creates a new community on a small host and then that host goes away. One would have to start from scratch on another server the same community and all the old posts would go away?
You can only create communities on the server you belong to. If that server were to disappear then the community would as well, though there would be a “copy” of the posts and comments on another server if someone from that server subscribed. You would have to make a new community on another server if you want to interact and make new posts or comments. I hope that makes sense.
Interestingasfuck and all the r/foundthe saga, also i would like to see 2latino4you
There doesn’t seem to be an active Interestingasfuck community yet so if you feel up to it maybe you could create one.
