Not a computer scientist but (regarding the post title), this is still classified as an integer overflow as the result -1 flows out of the domain your datatype can represent (0-255).
An integer underflow is when two numbers are so close to each other they become indistinct in your representation. For example a number that is so small, a float would represent it as 0.
    Love the meme though :)

  • Copyright and artist attribution is important. It is nice that you think of this stuff :3

I myself wondered whether the DNP list on e6 was more about the NSFW nature of the platform and looked through it. I saw some streamers who put their names there which makes sense. Didn’t really recognize many artists so I can’t tell whether people put their names on the e6 DNP list for not wanting to be associated with e6 or simply for not wanting their art shown on other platforms. A large portion of the e6 DNP list is also “artist only”, as in only the original artist may upload their art. Whether that should apply to Lemmy would also be debatable.

I also wondered how relevant the difference between linking and uploading is. Would an artist be fine having their art linked from Lemmy to their Furaffinity instead of uploading the Furaffinity image to Lemmy, both with additional links to the source? Or should a DNP list apply to both linking and uploading? I feel like as long as something is publicly available (without needing an account on some website) then it should be fine sharing it on Lemmy. There would be no need for a DNP list then. This obviously is much more complicated for NSFW posts which usually require accounts to view.

The simplest approach to respecting artists wishes would be to have a link in the sideboard or somewhere easily accessible, where artists can request their artworks to be taken off the site, coupled with community mods enforcing that artworks are posted with a link to the source. But whether that is enough, I don’t know. I am just a simple fur :3

Thank you for all your work though, Pawb Social staff! I appreciate the constant updates and posts where the community can chime in with feedback!

I also hate how ChatGPT infected the web nowadays is, though I usually look up song lyrics on genius. They sometimes have user generated comments with interesting tid bits. Akin to the old forums would be a lemmy community for interpreting song lyrics :)

  • This sounds dangerous tbh. I do not really watch ServusTV, nor do I know much about Red Bull business practices but stuff like the “Rechts-Links-Mitte” format sounds like they’re giving right wing extremists a platform to spread their misinformation and rhetoric. It might sound like a good idea to have opinions from all different kinds of people but media companies should have a moral duty to educate viewers and not foster misinformation by acknowledging every single opinion. That’s why you should be careful with things like these.

Furthermore the wikipedia article does mention ServusTV spreading misinformation about the covid vaccines, citing DerStandard and Tagesschau articles from 2021.

So all in all it seems the political reports on ServusTV should be taken with some suspicion. That does not mean they can’t have nice documentaries or sport broadcasts though.

As for Red Bull, they can’t really let ServusTV spread misinformation without actually supporting it. Probably makes them more money in some way. Might be a good idea to try out a suitable alternative energy drink if there is one.

I think it’s important nowadays to have faith in your government and democracy. You definitely should vote and you can be proud to help put your country into a direction you feel is best. This post seems to convey the message that you should vote to save democracy. This fear of the end of democracy might just end up increasing the influence of extreme political parties. In the US election both parties warned it will be the last vote.
German polls seem to indicate that CDU/CSU will be the strongest party and they will most likely not go into coalition with AfD, so the AfDs influence will not be much but they will probably get a lot of votes anyways. And even though I do not like the idea of a chancellor Merz due to him being very polarizing, I think Germany got this.
    Don’t panic C:
