I really liked Link’s Awakening. I haven’t played the remake though.
Link’s Awakening DX, the color version on Game Boy Color, was my absolute favorite along with Pokemon Red. I also remember spending a lot of time with Kirby’s Dream Land 2.
Later, I spent countless hours with N+ on PSP. And then even later I discovered the early Star Ocean games, and now my favorite PSP game is definitely Star Ocean 2: Second Evolution.
I loved that game on PS2 though it was so intense in the endless dungeon it would crash a lot. The party crafting is so cool in it! and a wonderful story.
Yeah, it’s prolly my favorite JRPG ever, I love how big and grand the story is. In fact, the non-furry profile pic I use these days across the internet is of Celine Jules
I spent an absolutely unreasonable amount of time playing Pokemon Blue on the original Gameboy, and the Pokemon TCG game for Gameboy Color. Those were pretty much all I used the things for for years.
I still have my copy of the original red. I wish there were a way to move pokemon from the original gen 1 games up through the series.
There is now, though it is only if you have them on the 3ds store and port them over to the Pokémon bank program. That means an old save won’t work obviously it has to be played on the 3ds. And the store is closing so I have to make sure my 3ds never dies D:
Though they can only go to the new games and not the middle ones. Idk for a series where you collect Pokémon they sure hate letting you save them across games
Pokémon Crystal was my jam. Had an absolute blast with it.
I still have a soft spot for Crystal Warriors for the Game Gear.
As a game, it’s kind of mediocre – not bad, but not great. But it was my first exposure to tactics RPGs, and that gives me a lot of fond memories despite.
I will avoid saying Pokémon because that’s really obvious
Battle network is good (I think it’s getting a re release on steam?) though I only was able to borrow it.
Kirby(s)
It seems kind of hard for me to remember. If I looked at a list of games I would probably remember better
Pokémon Emerald and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: blue rescue team were sooooo good :)
Also Kirby: nightmare in dreamland
I played all the way back to the original Gameboy, but when I think of portable systems of the past I reflect on Patapon for PSP. I put a lot of time in that rhythm game. Wish they’d make another in modern systems.
Golden Sun and its sequel (actually second half) for the GBA.
oracle of ages and oracle of seasons are the best zelda games imo. the ending of both gives you a code for the other to unlock a secret final boss.
Mario & Luigi superstar saga was fun. it has trans bowser and luigi in drag.
I spent a significant amount of time playing Tetris on the GameBoy. Didn’t have access to many games so it’s hard to point out a favourite otherwise.
The Oracle or {Ages, Seasons} games were pretty good but Link’s awakening had more memorability and is my favorite too

Final Fantasy Legend I and II on Gameboy.
I probably re played those 5-6 times each they had really cool monster and mutant races that would change as you played.
Come to find our it was actually the SaGa series rebranded for the US and you can get the collection on steam now thanks to SE re selling all thier old games on PC.
Check it out if you like those old RPG’s :)
Mario Kart DS was my most favorite that I played a lot of. It being a portable 3D Mario Kart that I can wirelessly play with other people even if they don’t have the copy of the game themselves and being able to race against other people online was pretty mindblowing to me at the time.
Beside Mario Kart DS, other games that came to mind that I played and remember liking were Wario Land, Yoshi’s Island (GBA), Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, and New Super Mario Bros.
